Agostina Sambataro

From her graduation of the University of Buenos Aires in the year 2013, in which she was distinguished with the "Degree with distinction for the outstanding work and academic performance, recognized by public and private external institutions", she has accumulated experience in diverse areas of architecture, opting finally for the field of theater architecture and equipment.

Still a student- after her work experience in the United States of America and her academic experience in Germany and New Zealand- she started her career in architecture in Santiago de Chile, in the company Amercanda next to the german architect Bernd Haller. Later, she worked in the residential Project BMC and University of Quilmes Auditorium, in the Faivre studio in Buenos Aires.  She participated also in national and international architecture competitions, in which she won the first prize in two occasions, including the “Clarín-SCA Prize for architecture students”.

In the year 2015 she moved to Cologne, Germany to be part of the team of architects of the studio v-architekten. There, she obtained the first prize as a result of the competition for the Technical School of the Army of the Federal Republic of Germany in Karlsruhe. She collaborated also in projects such as the Primary School of Berkersheim in Frankfurt, and the Parish Center in Langenfeld.  

Back in Buenos Aires, she associated with her father in the studio Sambataro Arquitectos, in which she is currently working, specializing in the field of theater architecture and stage design. In this aspect, she has worked for prestigious institutions such as the Teatro Coliseo of the Fundación Cultural Coliseum, Centro Cultural Recoleta, Teatro Argentino de La Plata, Teatro Colón, Teatro Tronador of Mar del Plata, Teatro Martín Fierro of La Plata, Teatro del Libertador General San Martin of Córdoba and Teatro Príncipe de Gales in Santiago de Chile, among others; performing both in the construction supervision and the development of bidding and technical projects with contract documents.

She also participated in specialization courses dictated by the Graduate School of Design of the University of Harvard, ETH Zürich, University of British Columbia, Argentina Green Building Council and the American Institute of Architects of Washington DC. Her Works have been published in magazines, television channels and architecture platforms such as Revista Summa, ARQ Clarín, Canal (á), D&D, Plataforma arquitectura and ArchDaily.
