Alfio Sambataro

Architect graduated in the University of Buenos Aires in 1981. He has worked from his beginnings until today in the design of performing arts venues and the technical design of sets for opera and ballet in important productions in theaters of America and Europe.

As milestone that marks the beginning of a long career of more than thirty years in the field, stands out the remodeling, modernization and equipment project of the stage house in the theater Teatro Colón of Buenos Aires, built in 1987 with Enrique Bordolini. Subsequently, he worked in the projects of Teatro Argentino de la Plata, Province of Buenos Aires, developed in the year 1999 and the bidding offer of the Palau de les Arts, Reina Sofia in the City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia, Spain.

His career inside this field continued to expand, participating in international projects such as The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia, United States of America; The Eastman Theater in Rochester, New York; the Teatro Municipal de Santiago in Chile; the Teatro Municipal Ignacio Pane in Asunción, Paraguay, among others.

The subject matter tackled also, the refunctionalization of historic cultural buildings, developed together with specialists of the architectural field. Within this topic he worked in projects such as Teatro Martín Fierro de La Plata; Centro Cultural Recoleta of Buenos Aires, Centro Cultural Casa Lo Matta, in Chile and the Escuela de Ballet del Teatro Municipal de Santiago de Chile, etc.

The realization of new performing arts venues of medium and large size was also implied in the area, such as, Centro Cultural Gabriela Mistral, of Santiago de Chile, Teatro Bellas Artes of Bogotá; Arena de Santiago, Teatro del Lago in Frutillar, Chile, between others.

Together with Enrique Bordolini he developed for more than thirty years the management and technical production of great open air events, for public and private entities.
